HIV and AIDS Symptoms

Since the first reported case of AIDS (or acquired immune deficiency syndrome), about 25 years, the disease has already become one of the most feared around the world. Twenty-five million people have already died from AIDS since the virus first appeared. There are about 38.6 million people are afflicted with HIV (or Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which is the main cause of AIDS. HIV damages the cells that make up the immune system, resulting in the inability of the body to defend against fungi, viruses and bacteria, which set off the disease.

After the first infection of HIV, there now could be the symptoms of AIDS. In fact, there are even cases of HIV infection who show absolutely zero symptoms of any kind. However, it is also common for those with HIV to experience flu-like symptoms that usually occur up to six weeks after the initial infection. However, as these symptoms such as swollen lymph glands, headache, rash, fever and sore throat are similar to those exposed to other illnesses, people may not realize that they are infected with HIV until it is too late.
