Since then, of course, the terrible reality of the destructive forces of HIV and AIDS has hit home with millions dying. Today, many more are living with HIV due to improved treatments. While for some, the media have undoubtedly hit the mark in terms of encouraging more responsible behavior in order to avoid the spread of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), for others it is a very touching film which have been produced that have caused them to think twice.

...Of all contemporary films show the suffering of victims of AIDS, Philadelphia is probably one of the most famous, though not the earliest. Made in 1993 and starring Tom Hanks as a senior legal assistant Andrew Beckett, the film deals with the main character's struggle to deal not only homophobic prejudices of his associates, and his struggle with AIDS. Inspired by the true life story of Geoffrey Bowers, a lawyer who sued the law firm that worked in 1987 for unfair dismissal on the basis of discrimination against AIDS, some now see the movie as something outdated. It must be said that, as with many excellent movies that are made on the subject, his portrait of the disease should do more to encourage those who are potentially threaten to seek a confidential HIV test as soon as possible.

Although Philadelphia may be one of the most memorable films about HIV and AIDS, the very first that was a TV movie that first aired on NBC in November 1985th Starring Aidan Quinn as a successful Chicago lawyer Michael Pierson, Rani Mraz solves the dilemma of the main character's family in coming to terms with his homosexuality and that is AIDS.
